Eco Village is established in the
concept of ecology. The museum is resided in an ancient house built
around 1860. The founders believe that teddy bears are not only stuffed
toys. They have the magical power to approach human being, young and
old. Therefore they can act as a media to pass the message of environmental
care, recycle and love the world.

Tom and Snowy (the orange and white
bear) had been living in Takayama for 1 year. They were invited by the
museum to stay and meet the Japanese bear lovers after their nomination
in the Eco Village Contest 2003. Michael & I came to take them home.
We also brought along a little blue bear, Bluebell, as requested by
our friend Fumiko. Fumiko and Tom showed us around and tasted the local
cuisine. Bluebell was most interested. See how she was mouthwatering
in front of the noodle.
